Back in November, it was confirmedthatMarvel’s Agent CarterstarHayley Atwellwill appear inAnt-Man.A rumor from August suggestedthat a younger Hank Pym will meet up with the founding members of S.H.I.E.L.D., which does include Peggy Carter. While that exact scene hasn’t been confirmed,Newsaramahas received a preview ofMarvel’s comic book prelude, set to debut next week, which shows an older Peggy Carter working with Hank Pym during the Cold War. Take a look at the comic book’s description below.
“Before Scott Lang becomesMarvel’s shrinking sensation, Dr. Hank Pym will pull on the helmet and leap into action on a death-defying mission that will take him into the icy heart of Cold War East Berlin!”

As you can see in the comic book panels below, Peggy is seen testing Pym’s ability to improvise under pressure, which is similar to how she tested Steve Rogers' vibranium shield inCaptain America: The First Avenger. It’s also worth noting that there isn’t a specific year given for when this story takes place, but Peggy seems to be much older than the 1946 versionHayley Atwellplays in ABC’sMarvel’s Agent Carter. It’s possible that the actress will be “aged up” a bit, a process she is familiar with after playing an elderly version of Peggy on her deathbed in last year’sCaptain America: The Winter Soldier.
The first issue runs 32 pages and will be priced at $2.99 when it debuts next week. It isn’t known when the second part of this two-part series will debut at this time. Take a look at the comic book images below, and stay tuned for more details about Peggy Carter’s connection to Hank Pym as we get closer toAnt-Man’s release on July 17.
