While there has not yet been an official trailer for the series, Apple TV+ has provided a brief description to offer viewers a taste of what is to come. Alexandre Leger, the creator of the famed Leger Wine Guide, which is regarded as one of the best in the world, passed away at the age of 60 at his home in Tokyo. As Camile travels to Tokyo for her father’s memorial, she discovers that her father has left the world’s greatest wine collection in his will. However, Camile is not the only successor to it, as her father adopted a son named Issei Tomine, a well-known wine critic. The victor of this battle between the biological daughter and adored son takes all the glory and riches, but Camile is at a disadvantage here. She has never tasted wine and knows nothing about it. Can she deal with Issei Tomine, the most likely heir to her father’s possessions?
Although the series is based on manga, it differs from the original material in a few ways. Camile’s character in the original story was Shizuku Kanzaki, a male who is a little bit of an expert in beverages but is an amateur when it comes to judging the flavors of wines. Nonetheless, it’s fascinating to see how they altered one of the key characters to a female because it adds an emotional element between a father and his daughter.
