After Sony, Warner Bros. and DC made the day for their fans at CinemaCon, announcing several new developments on the film and television front that they may see in the next year. FromThe Batman 2toThe FlashandBlack Adam, panel members for respective films discussed plot details, showed available exclusive footage and teased character appearances throughout. Among them was a potential plot tease forAquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

During the CinemaCon, though Jason Momoa skippedAquaman and the Lost Kingdom, director James Wan showcased a featurette for the film during the panel, which dived a bit into the film’s plot. Though the panel members refrained from diving into core details of the story, the featurette revealed a team-up along the same lines as that of Loki and Thor inThor: The Dark World.

Aquaman 2 Update: Patrick Wilson Teases Orm’s Return

The featurette revealed (viaThe Direct) that the film will see Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Patrick Wilson’s Ocean Master in the anticipated sequel. In the previous film, Orm Marius/Ocean Master was ruled Atlantis and was on the verge of waging war against the surface. Aquaman, with the help of Mera and Vulko, rebelled against him and took control of Atlan’s lost trident, thus, proclaiming the title of the king. After a duel, Orm knelt after learning that Arthur had rescued their mother Atlanna and was arrested. However, Arthur hinted at a possible reconciliation between them at the end.

Now, in the 2023 sequel, the new king of Atlantis will have to team up with his half-brother to take down the common enemy, Orm’s former hire-to-kill, David Kane aka Black Manta. In the new film, Black manta will continue his quest to seek vengeance against Aquaman for killing his father and willprobably return more powerful than beforewith a larger ship and probably a tech too dangerous for Atlantis to tackle.

A threat to his beloved kingdom will be enough to have Marius set aside his differences with his brother and ally with him to halt whatever danger Black Manta poses to them. Earlier, Wan hadreleased a picture of Patrick Wilson from the setsthat hinted that Marius would have had spent quite a time in the prison before he was brought out of his imprisonment. Given that there is a tease to the two brothers' team-up, it will be interesting to see what place Ocean Master takes in the future of theAquamanseries and the DCEU.
