Spoiler Warning: Arcane Season One
Arcanequickly became a smash hit for Netflix and catapulted the anime series to the forefront of animated entertainment, breaking numerous viewership records for the streaming serviceand taking home several coveted awards. Based on the popular video game franchiseLeague of Legends, the series revolved around sisters Vi and Powder (later known as Jinx) and their journey to find each other after the death of their adopted father and their accidental separation. Unfortunately, the sisters don’t have the fairy-tale ending that most animated series tend to have, and they ended the season on opposite ends of a conflict.
While the series' first season unquestionably revolved aroundthe relationship between Vi and Jinx,it also contained a plethora of familiarLeague of Legendsplayers (as well as a few other original characters). It allowed audiences to fall in love with each one of them. The first season purposely ended with a ton of cliffhangers, and it’s speculated that the season was predominantly used as a set-up for the content scheduled to come in later seasons. With that in mind, audiences and fans have many questions about what will happen in season 2 and which of the season 1 storylines will be resolved.

Aftermath of the Council’s Fate
Let’s get the biggest and hardest hitting out of the way - what’s going to happen to Pilltover and Zaun? Prior to Jinx using her rocket launcher, the Council was in the process of finalizing a vote that would officially make Pilltover and Zaun two separate states. This is exactly what Silco has been fighting for the whole season. Unfortunately, the aftermath of Silco’s death resulted in Powder fully embracing her darker half and making the (seemingly) permanent flip to Jinx, which then concluded with Jinx shooting a rocket at the Council chambers before cutting to black.

Now, it isn’t officially known what will happen to all Council members (again, the show cut to black as an ultimate cliffhanger), but it’s widely presumed that most of them will perish. Right now, Jayce is the only character audiences think will survive the blast. Still, the resulting aftermath of the explosion (i.e., what will happen between Pilltover and Zaun) really has fans wondering. Obviously, peace doesn’t seem like a realistic option after the attack, but whoever survives the blast will most likely have some say in that decision.
Ekko & Heimerdinger
Two fan-favorite characters who ended up meeting towards the end of the season were Ekko and Heimerdinger. These two couldn’t have been more opposite in their upbringing yet are both equally talented and intelligent. Heimerdinger was seen as the crutch for most of the first season, always holding Jayce and Viktor back with their Hex-Tech and eventually getting himself voted out of the Council due to his need to progress at a slow and steady pace.

Meanwhile, Ekko was a scrappy, sewer-rat kid who grew up on the streets his entire life and was basically abandoned after Vander died and Vi and Powder disappeared. So, when Ekko took the brilliant scientist back to his hideout and his lovable band of merry vigilantes, Heimerdinger was immediately astounded by how much Ekko and the people had done in such a short span of time. In other words, audiences immediately connected that Heimerdinger could team-up with Ekko, thus pairing his brains with Ekko’s awesomeness. There’s no tellingwhere the two characters will go in season 2. We just hope that they go together.
Viktor’s Fate
Another brilliant scientist,Viktor is a character fans are incredibly curious about. After all, hisArcanecharacter was one of the most different from hisLeague of Legendscharacter (at least in looks), and audiences are wondering how the frail, flimsy Viktor is going to turn into the horrifying, deadly machine that he ultimately ends up becoming. The concept was hinted at in the first season, with Viktor and Jayce making strides in Hex-Tech and Viktor giving himself mechanical legs. However, the character is still a long way from its final form, so audiences are very much looking forward to how the scientist will turn into a cyborg.
Vander’s Fate
Some fans might be confused by this one since it was pretty conclusive that Vander met his end during the third episode of the season and was only seen againin a vision that Vi had during a fight scene. However, eagle-eyed fans noticed during the final-montage sequence that something resembling Vander’s body was hanging from the rafters of Singed’s laboratory. It’s largely been speculated that Singed will perform experiments on Vander’s body that will ultimately turn him into theLeague of Legendscharacter Warwick. This monstrous, wolf-looking creature could become a villain/foe in future seasons.
