David Leitch, the former stunt-performer-turned-director of hit action flicks likeAtomic Blonde,Deadpool 2,Bullet Train, andThe Fall Guy, has just landed his next movie. Along with the likes of Chad Stahelski (John Wick) and Sam Hargrave (Extraction), Leitch has been at the forefront of pushing the boundaries of action cinema while also advocating forstunt performers to be recognized at the Oscars.Following on from 2024’sThe Fall Guy, Leitch and the 87North production company have landed their next project, an original action thriller titledFight.
Thanks to a new report from Deadline, Universal Pictures and 87North have picked upFlight, with David Leitch set to direct. Plot details have not yet been revealed, but the film is based on a spec script written by Nathaniel Halpern (Tales from the Loop&Legion). Leitch and Kelly McCormick are producing the film under the 87North banner, along with Universal Pictures.

Before audiences get to see Nicholas Hoult lead an action film inHow to Rob a Bank, the actor will go toe-to-toe with the Man of Steel in James Gunn’sSuperman. Hoult is playing Lex Luthor in the movie, and is expected to have a long DCU tenure, providing the film is successful when it releases in theaters this July.
