When theteaser trailer debuted in OctoberforMarvel’sAvengers: Age of Ultron, fans got their first look atAndy Serkis' mystery character. After seeing that brief shot, many fans had a hunch about who the actor was really playing. Then thesecond trailergave us an even better look at the actor in costume. Now Schmoes Know’s sources confirm that the actor is playing Ulysses Klaw. Please note: This hasn’t been officially confirmed by Marvel yet.
The site’s sources reveal that this version of Klaw is actually an “amalgamation” of both Klaw and his father from the comic books, Fritz Klaue, who has been connected to the villainous Baron Von Strucker, played byThomas Kretschmann, and the Howling Commandos, which will also be referenced in the sequel. Here’s what the unidentified source had to say, revealing that Klaw’s father may also pop up inThe Avengers 2:
“Fritz could possibly have a small appearance in the film or a passing reference, but most of his attributes will be given to Serkis' Klaw.”
What remains to be seen is how Klaw will fit into theAvengers: Age of Ultronstory, but, from thehints left in the last trailer, it seems this sequel will be setting up the stand aloneBlack Panthermovie starringChadwick Boseman, which is set for release in November 2017. Ulyssses Klaw was a villain in several of theBlack Panthercomics, and there is speculation that the Avengers may pay a visit to T’challa’s homeland of Wakanda in the sequel. It has already been confirmed thatChadwick Boseman’sBlack Pantherwill appear in next year’sCaptain America: Civil War, but we’ll have to wait and see if the character appears inAvengers: Age of Ultron.
Schmoes Know also teased details that they will reveal later today about “a possible HUGE female character from the Marvel U that might just tie into the whole ‘grand scheme’ of the MCU and its shared universe.” Who could this female character be? Chime in with your best guesses below, and stay tuned throughout the day, as we’ll bring you this new information as soon as we have it.
