HBO Max is officially no more. As of May 23, it’s been replaced by the totally revamped service known simply asMax. So why the rebrand? Perhaps the streamer wanted to emphasize its non-HBO programming after the merger with Discovery. Maybe they wanted a fresh, new look to keep viewers interested. Or perhaps they wanted to distract from the ire they received when they canceled what seems like every project viewers loved.

Whatever the reasoning may be, Max is moving ahead with brand-new content throughout the month of June. We’ve got continuations of existing shows, new reality hits, overseas imports, and so much more. Now let’s look at all the best new series coming to HBO… I mean, just Max in June 2023.

First Five (June 9)

Another overseas import, this show comes to us from Finland. The documentary tells the story of Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, the youngest world leader at the time of her 2019 election. However, Marin’s tenure was challenged by the COVID outbreak in 2020 and the Russia-Ukraine War two years later. Reportedly, the show will take a close look at the lives of female politicians in unprecedented times, showcasing moments of vulnerability behind the scenes.

Downey says of his missionin the show, “We are what we drive, and having amassed a formidable collection of classic cars over the years, I was a petrol-spewing mess. And a hypocrite, as I’d founded the Footprint Coalition in 2019 to scale technologies that mitigate climate change. Fortunately, I’m a bit of a dreamer. The last 3 years have been an experiment in hope, as I engaged the best and brightest minds to evaluate, educate, elevate, and decarbonize these vehicles in a way that demonstrates the limitless potential of creative problem-solving.”
