Fans have been hoping and praying for years that the long-awaitedBill & Ted 3will get off the ground some day, with originalBill and Ted’s Excellent AdventurestarsKeanu ReevesandAlex Winterset to return as the title characters. We’ve known for quite some time that the script byEd SolomonandChris Mathesonhas already been written, withAlex Winterteasing earlier this month that production may either begin at the end of 2016 or the beginning of 2017. Today we have a report from Metro.uk, with an unidentified source claiming that the story brings theWyld Stallynsto London.

“The script is already written for the third film and much of it is set in the UK. The whole film is going to have a huge British feel. They’lltime-travelthrough London and meet historical figures, meaning the Queen and Winston Churchill could get cameos.”

Keanu Reevesteased back in 2014 the sequel will actually feature multiple versions of both Bill S. Preston Esquire and Ted Theodore Logan. The actor also revealed that someone from the future visitsBill and Ted, telling them if they don’t write the one song that will save the world by a certain date, the universe and history itself will unravel. It would make sense that Bill and Ted find themselves in London and various parts of the U.K. Their wives Elizabeth and Joanna are from Medieval England, and according to the end ofBogus Journey, both couples have stayed together and have children. In the original, Princess Elizabeth was played byKimberley Kateswhile Princess Joanna was played byDiane Franklin. In the sequel,Annette Azcuytook over the Elziabeth role, whileSarah Triggertook over Joanna. There is no word if any of the four actresses will return forBill & Ted 3.

Dean Parisotis directingBill & Ted 3fromEd SolomonandChris Matheson’s script, although no further cast members have been locked in yet, aside fromKeanu ReevesandAlex Winter. It’s also worth noting thatAlex Winterdid tease that other familiar characters from the first two movies may re-surface in the sequel. Unfortunately, one of those characters won’t beGeorge Carlin, who played the beloved Rufus in the first two movies, and passed away in 2008.

Alex Wintersaid last year thatBill & Ted 3will either happen “really soon or never,” but hopefully production will actually start at the end of this year. At this point, it may take a miracle of sorts to get this sequel rolling, but we’ll have to wait and see. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates onBill & Ted 3as soon as they come in.
