Back in May 2013,MarvelStudios reacquired the rights to four of its beloved comic book properties,Daredevil,The Punisher,Ghost RiderandBlade, after these titles held by various different studios lapsed. Just a few months later, Marvel announced thatDaredevilwould one of four new TV shows debuting on Netflix, followed byJessica Jones,Luke CageandIron Fist. During this current season ofDaredevil, the show introducedThe Punisher, played byJon Bernthal, who is getting his own Netflix spinoff as well. But we haven’t heard much about the studio’s plans forGhost RiderandBlade. Today we have a new report that claims Marvel and Netflix are in fact developing TV shows forGhost RiderandBlade, along with another Marvel character,Moon Knight.

This new report fromMovie Creed Livedoesn’t offer any details about any of these series, or how far along in development they may or may not be. We don’t know for sure if the streaming service has brought on writers to develop these potential shows, or if they are simply in the very early stages of development. This report certainly isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumors about these characters coming to life on the small screen.

Back in June, a report surfaced that claimedNetflixis developing aPunisherseries, which was confirmed just last month, along with shows featuringGhost Rider,Bladeand The Hulk, who is played byMark Ruffaloin the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Naturally, that report was never confirmed, but then in October, another rumor surfaced that Netflix is also developing aMoon Knightseries. That report hinted that Marvel could introduceMoon Knightin one of their current shows, much like how they introducedThe PunisherinDaredevilSeason 2, before moving on to his own series.

BothBladeandGhost Riderhave been seen before on the big screen, withWesley Snipesplaying the title character in theBladetrilogy from New Line Cinema, andNicolas Cageportraying theGhost Riderin two movies from 20th Century Fox. There had been rumors that new movies would be developed for both of these characters, but those reports were never confirmed. IfMoon Knightdoes happen as a TV series, it will be the first time this character has been portrayed in live action, although he has appeared in video games and animated shows.

Moon Knightwas created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, who made his Marvel comics debut in 1975’sWerewolf by Night#32. He went on to appear in a number of different comics before his own stand alone series was released in 1980. Born Marc Spector,Moon Knightwas given superhuman strength, endurance, and reflexes after he was visited by Egyptian god Khonshu. However, his powers are either enhanced or weakened depending on the phases of the moon. He also used a number of gadgets to fight crime, which lead to the character being compared to DC’s Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman.
