In an entertainment climate where western content seems to red-hot, who can forget the Kurt Russell gemBone Tomahawk? It’s hard to believe this year marks the 10th anniversary of the western horror film’s release. And it featured quite the ensemble alongside Russell, including Patrick Wilson (Insidious), the late Sid Haig (a Rob Zombie regular) andDavid Arquette. MovieWeb recently caught up with Arquette amid the release of his police drama filmMob Cops, and the belovedScreamactoralso took time to reflect on his experience shootingBone Tomahawkalongside the other big names. Arquette told us:
“Working with Sid Haig was just such a honor because he’s such an incredible, legendary actor. And that may have been his last film, so just feel really blessed to have met him and worked with him. And then Kurt Russell, I mean, we did3,000 Miles to Gracelandtogether, and then to come on this and just see him, and he did such a tremendous performance in that, in everything. The guy is just amazing actor.”

It might even just been a day, but it started the movie off and it was just fun and just kind of happened very quickly. But to be part of a movie that has staying power that people continue to appreciate really was a gift.”

He loves film and he loves mob, you know, stories and telling these really… just wonderful characters. He always loves really great characters. He works with Barry Markowitz a lot, who’s a DP, he didAll the Pretty HorsesandSling BladeandThe Apostle. He’s a tremendous cinematographer, so to work with them, it’s just so much fun.
