Exactly one month from today,Captain America: Civil Warwill hit theaters and kick off both the summer movie season andPhase Threeof theMarvelCinematic Universe. ABC’sGood Morning Americahelped celebrate the one-month countdown earlier today by releasing a new behind-the-scenes preview, which features footage from the set and interviews with several of the main cast members, includingChris Evans(Captain America),Robert Downey Jr.(Iron Man) and many more. We also hear from directorsAnthony RussoandJoe Russo, who shed some light on the epic airport fight sequence.
We’ve already seen bits and pieces of footage from this massive battle sequence in the previously releasedtrailers, but this behind-the-scenes video shows footage from the actual set. The directors revealed that, since it’s difficult to shoot at an actual airport, they used massive green screens to add all of the airport elements in with CGI, and that the actors wore cooling systems under their costumes to protect them from the sweltering Atlanta heat.Robert Downey Jr.also teases that characters will make choices that “surprise you,” and that this action-adventure will be quite different from the iconicCivil Warcomics. We also hear fromChris Evans,Sebastian Stan,Scarlett Johansson,Jeremy Renner,Emily VanCamp,Anthony Mackie,Elizabeth OlsenandChadwick Boseman.
