Next year, we’ll be getting our firstTom HollandledSpider-Manmovie and a thirdThormovie that is shaping up to be pretty awesome. But even with that,James Gunn’sGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2may be the most anticipated of the bunch.Chris Prattis also pretty excited and confident about it, as he seems to think it will literally be the biggest spectacle movie ever made.

Prattis currently promoting his latest movieThe Magnificent Seven, which led him to have a chat withThe Toronto Sun. Naturally, the subject of theGuardians of the Galaxysequel came up andPrattseems to have a tremendous amount of confidence in the movie. Here is what he had to say.

“It’s a fabulous script. I think it’s going to be — I’m not using hyperbole, here - I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time.”

I think we can all agree thatGuardians of the Galaxywas one hell of aspectacle movieand that everything we have heard and seen in regards toGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2leads us to believe we’re in store for another spectacle-heavy movie. That being said, thinking about it being the biggest spectacle movie of all-time is a bit of a stretch. ButPrattdid say that he was not speaking in hyperbole, so he does seem to think that is the case.Bigger than Star Wars? Apparently, he doesn’t have any problem with us really getting our hopes up for this movie, as if they weren’t high enough already.

The originalGuardians of the Galaxymovie was viewed as a massive risk for Marvel Studios, but really became the thing that proved just how strong thebrandwas. The film went on to gross nearly $800 million worldwide and was based on a virtually unknown property at the time. Now, it is considered among the best movies that the studio has ever produced and they are one of the strongest brands and some of the most recognizable characters in all of theMarvel canon. It’s amazing what one great movie can do.
