The end of this most current season brought a lot of changes to Star City, with the death ofKatie Cassidy’s Black Canary. TheComic-Con trailerrevealed that Team Arrow will have a few new members when it returns this fall. It was also confirmed a few months ago that another fan-favorite character,Colton Haynes' Roy Harper, will be back. Now it seems his return will be sooner than expected.
Colton Haynesrevealed during France’s Justice Squad convention in May that he gets to return for “a few episodes ofArrow” this season, but it wasn’t said when exactly he’ll be back. The DC MediaVerse Facebook discovered new photos that series starEcho Kellumposted on Snapchat, which featureColton Hayneson the set. Since production recently got under way on Season 5, this may mean thhe could appear in one of the first few episodes, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
Colton Haynesmade quite the surprising exit asArsenaltowards the end of Season 3, when he posed asArrowto take the fall for Oliver Queen, faked his own death in prison, and left Star City. The producers revealed that the door was open for him to return in Season 4, and he did just that in the 12th episode,Unchained. While we don’t know the details of his return, it seems likely that Roy Harper/Arsenal will be stepping up in the absence of other Team Arrow members.
Despite being killed in Season 4,Katie Cassidywill return in the Season 5 premiere ofArrow, which was confirmed at Comic-Con. It was also revealed that she signed a deal similar toWentworth Miller, that allows her to become a series regular onArrow,The FlashandLegends of Tomorrow. Still, since Black Canary presumably won’t be around as much, the Comic-Con trailer gave us our first look at some of Team Arrow’s newest members,Wild Dog(Rick Gonzalez) and Evelyn Sharp (Madison McLaughlin), along withEcho Kellum’s Curtis Holt.
The trailer also gave us our first look at this season’s villain, Prometheus, along with a scene that featured Laurel making Oliver a promise on her death bed.
