Back in June, after months of speculation, HBO confirmed thatCurb Your Enthusiasm Season 9is happening, with series creator and starLarry Davidreturning. The network didn’t confirm any additional details about the show, or what returning cast members would be back, but it was revealed through a new video today that production has gotten under way. Unfortunately, the video doesn’t shed any light on the story, or even give us a glimpse atLarry Davidhimself, but it does confirm that one other cast member will be back.
HBOposted this new video on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, featuringJ.B. Smoove, who is clearly excited to start production. The video showsJ.B. SmooveapproachLarry David’s trailer, trying to get the writer/producer/star to come out, with the actor even claiming that he’ll do the season all by himself, ifLarry Daviddoesn’t get excited. In trueLarry Davidfashion, he never comes out of the trailer, promptingJ.B. Smooveto try and film the whole season by himself.

The news came from a sports radio DJ namedChris Law, who revealed on Twitter that thatCurb Your EnthusiasmwriterJeff Schafferrecently met withLarry David, where both a new season and a movie were discussed. As of now, theCurb Your Enthusiasmmovie has yet to be confirmed.
Aside fromJ.B. Smoove, it was recently confirmed thatTed DansonandMary Steenburgenwill be joining the show, along withJeff Garlin,Cheryl HinesandSusie Essman. That report from TV Line revealed that, since all of the actors currently star on other shows, withJeff GarlinonThe Goldbergs,Cheryl HinesonSon of Zorn,Mary SteenburgenonLast Man on EarthandTed DansononThe Good Place, their schedules will be coordinated so that this season doesn’t interfere with their other shows.
