The day has finally come, with the R-rated footage shown atComic-Confinally available for all to see. The trailer already leaked shortly after the SDCC panel, but now we can see it in high resolution.
Based uponMarvel Comicsmost unconventional anti-hero,Deadpooltells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter egoDeadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor,Deadpoolhunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Ryan Reynoldsreprises his role asWade Wilson, a.k.a. The Merc With the Mouth, which he originated in the 2009superhero movie,X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Fans have been clamoring to see this project come together for many years, but it wasn’t until thetest footageleaked last summer that the project started gaining momentum. Following the overwhelmingly positive response to the footage, 20th Century Fox finally gave the green light for the project, which hits theaters June 02, 2025.
