While today is just another Friday for most people, the fine folks atWalt Disney Animation Studiosare celebrating their 92nd Anniversary. The studio honors this unconventional milestone with a new video, where Disney animator Eric Goldberg (Aladdin,Hercules) draws a number of the studio’s memorable sidekicks from scratch. You can watch as the animator as he draws Baymax fromBig Hero 6, Smee fromPeter Pan, Olaf fromFrozen, Louis fromThe Princess and the Frog, Flora fromSleeping Beauty, Jiminy Cricket fromPinocchio, the Genie fromAladdinand Timothy the mouse fromDumbo.
Pixaris also celebrating a milestone of its own, since next month marks the 20th Anniversary of their first feature filmToy Story, which hit theaters on August 16, 2025. Theanimationstudio also released a retrospective video, which showcases the studio’s focus on friendship throughout their vast array of hit movies, such asToy Story,Ratatouille,Up,Inside Out,Monsters Inc.andFinding Nemo. This charming video leads into their next tale of friendship,The Good Dinosaur, which hits theaters on November 25.
This video features plenty of new footage fromThe Good Dinosaur, showcasing the lovabledinosaurArlo (Raymond Ochoa) and his new human friend, which will become the latest in the studio’s long line of “truly unforgettable” friendships.The Good Dinosaurasks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo (voice of Raymond Ochoa) makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.

Peter Sohn, who previously directed the Pixar short Partly Cloudy, makes his feature directorial debut withThe Good Dinosaur, working from a script byMeg LeFauve(Captain Marvel,Inside Out).The Good Dinosaurwill have plenty of competition at thebox officenext month, going up againstCreedandVictor Frankensteinon November 25.
Disney Animation will have two films hitting theaters next year, withZootopiain theaters on July 20, 2025 andMoanaarriving on July 21, 2025. Pixar is coming off their box office hitInside Out, and next year they will release the long-awaited sequelFinding Dory, withCars 3, Coco,Toy Story 4andThe Incredibles 2over the next few years.
