During Disney’sD23 Expothis past August, the studio announced plans for twoStar Warsthemed lands that will be coming to Disneyland park in Anaheim, California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Construction won’t begin until next year on these 14-acre expansions, but starting next month, there will be new attractions opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, leading into the highly-anticipated release ofStar Wars: The Force Awakenson December 18. TheDisney Parks Blogannounced today that new attractions will be open starting December 1.
TheStar WarsLaunch Bay will take guests into theStar Warssaga and the upcoming film,Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with special exhibits and peeks behind-the-scenes, special merchandise and opportunities to encounterChewbaccaandDarth Vader.Star Tours - The Adventures Continuewill be home to a brand new adventure inspired by the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. During the opening months, we’ll verify that everyone who rides Star Tours will experience the new adventure. After that, it will be up to the will of the Force.

Another new attraction is entitledStar Wars: Path of the Jedi, which will feature scenes from the completeStar Warssaga. Path of the Jedi also gives anyone new to theStar Warsgalaxy an opportunity to get acquainted with the films. The final attraction opening next month is Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. This reimagined Jedi Training experience will take younglings to the secret site of an ancient Jedi temple where they will face Darth Vader along with the Seventh Sister - a new villain from the Disney XD seriesStar Wars Rebels.
Disney also announced that they won’t be able to offerStar WarsWeekends, while construction is under way on the 14-acreStar Wars-themed land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, with these new attractions opening in December, fans will get to experience theStar Warssaga every day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, starting December 1. With Star Wars Launch Bay, the new Jedi Training experience, “Star Wars: Path of the Jedi” and a new destination in the Star Tours attraction opening in December, you’ll be able to step into the Star Wars saga every time you visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
