With just months until thisMarvel Phase 3movie arrives, today we have word that another writer was brought aboard for some last-minute rewrites,CommunitycreatorDan Harmon.

The Hollywood Reporterreveals that Marvel Studios brought onDan Harmonafter the superhero adventure hadwrapped productionin April. The studio was looking for a writer to create some new scenes “for additional photography,” according to the site’s source. It isn’t known if he will get any writing credit for his work, although it seems unlikely.

DirectorScott Derricksonwrote the script with his collaboratorC. Robert Cargill, a former online movie critic from Ain’t It Cool News who used to write under the pseudonym “Massawyrm.“Jon Spaihts, best known forPrometheusand the upcomingPassengers, will receive a story credit on thissuperhero movie, which delves into the mystical side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While this project will markDan Harmon’s first foray into the superhero world, the MCU is no stranger toCommunityalums.

Before coming aboard to directCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, and thenCaptain America: Civil Warand the upcomingAvengers: Infinity War,Anthony RussoandJoe Russowere best known as the executive producers of hit sitcoms likeArrested Development,Happy EndingsandDan Harmon’sCommunity. The directors started a tradition by giving small roles toCommunitystarDanny Pudi(Abed) inCaptain America: The Winter SoldierandJim Rash(Dean Pelton) inCaptain America: Civil War. The filmmakers revealed they will continue this tradition inAvengers: Infinity War, but they don’t quite know whichCommunitycast member will come aboard next.

Before creatingCommunity,Dan Harmonwrote the script for the 2006 animated comedyMonster House, and also co-createdThe Sarah Silverman Project. The writer also did uncredited work on the firstKung Fu Pandaas well, and he currently stars in a new show he created,Great Minds With Dan Harmon.
