Ncuti Gatwa, known for his role inSex Education, assumes the role of the fifteenth Doctor in the upcoming season ofDoctor Who. He has recently hinted at a particular scene in episode 5 that he believes will leave a lasting impression on viewers. Alongside Millie Gibson, Gatwa will embark on adventures within the TARDIS, a spaceship disguised as a British police box from the 1960s. This vessel will transport The Doctor through time, allowing them to explore the past and the future while encountering a diverse range of civilizations and formidable adversaries along the way.
During a recent interview withGQ, Gatwa revealed that he was inspired to deliver a performance that would astonish everyone on the set. In his words, he needed to “dig deep and pull out something” that would solidify his position as The Doctor.
“…the final scene in episode five. People will remember that scene. You have to dig deep and pull out something that will blow everyone on this set away – and I bloody well did. I heard someone say: ‘That’s why he’s the Doctor.'”

David Tennant Discusses the Possibility of Returning to Doctor Who Post-60th Anniversary Specials
Doctor Whois set to mark its 60th anniversary with a trilogy of episodes. One exciting revelation is the return of David Tennant, known for his portrayal of the Tenth Doctor. Tennant previously addressed these questions. He noted that it would be"disingenuous" to rule out a future returnsince history has shown that The Doctor actors often make comebacks, even if he can’t confirm when or if that might happen. Tennant also jokingly drew a parallel with Patrick Stewart’s role inStar Trek, suggesting that perhaps his goal should be to have one last outing as The Doctor when he’s 82, given that he has “30 years to wait.”
“I think it would be disingenuous to imagine that I might never be asked again because history would indicate that it was always a possibility. So, I’m not going to say never because I don’t think anyone would believe me. That doesn’t mean I know that I ever will. But I suppose until I can’t run down a corridor it’s always a possibility. But I promise to have no plans.”
“[In reference to Patrick Stewart in Star Trek]. Maybe that should be my goal, to have one last outing as The Doctor at 82. I’ve got 30 years to wait.”
