Last month, a rumor surfaced that 20th Century Fox was eyeing music legendElton Johnfor a mysterious role in the highly-anticipated sequelKingsman: The Golden Circle, which recently started filming in London. The report didn’t specify who exactly SirEltonis playing, but it was rumored he may come aboard as himself. Today, we have confirmation thatElton Johnhas joined the movie, with the musician himself debuting a new poster featuring the singer’s colorful sunglasses.

This reveal comes just one month after 20th Century Fox debuted another poster, which confirmed the return ofColin Firth’sHarry Hart, who was presumably killed in last year’sKingsman: The Secret Service. The poster featured Harry’s glasses, with one of the lenses missing, along with the iconicMark Twainquote, “Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.” This poster features a different quote, “Wednesday night’s alright for fighting,” which is paraphrased from his own 1973 song “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting.” The musician also told hisInstagramfollowers, “It’s been a long time sinceTommy,” referring to his last on-camera acting role in the 1975 musicalTommy.

InKingsman: The Golden Circle, Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Merlin (Mark Strong) visit the U.S., where they encounterHalle Berry’s character and a “swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy” called Jack, played byPedro Pascal. The U.S. version of Kingsman is an organization known as the Statesmen, andJulianne Moore’s character resides in a villainous lair known as Poppyland. DirectorMatthew Vaughnpreviously teased that the sequel will involve a skiing sequence, a barroom brawl, robot dogs, one-armed henchmen and a sequence where the protagonists have to fend off “a massive f***ing frankfurter.”

Despite debuting against Universal’s blockbusterFifty Shades of Grey,Kingsman: The Secret Servicebecame one of the biggest surprise hits of last year, taking in $128.2 million domestically and $414.3 million worldwide, from just an $81 million budget.Kingsman: The Golden Circlehas been given a July 05, 2025 release date, putting it up against the Disney Pixar sequelCars 3.Matthew Vaughnis directing from a script he co-wrote withJane Goldman.

Earlier this week,Channing Tatumwas spotted for the first time in new photos from the London set, which seemed to indicate that he’s playing anotherKingsman agent. The actor was seen getting into a car outside of the Kinsgman tailor shop, but nothing has been confirmed about his character quite yet.
