The summer movie season is here, andDisney+has a full slate of titles making their way to the platform in July. With almosta century of film content, there’s plenty to choose from. Disney+’s library features titles from classic Disney, Pixar, National Geographic, and the combined 8 billion films and series that make up Marvel andStar Wars.

Disney+ recently revealed its full slate of July 2025 content. Although the new film offerings are somewhat limited, there should still be something for everyone to enjoy. There’s a revival of a series of short documentaries that Disney last produced in 1960. One of the biggest summer thrillers is getting a special look back for its 50th anniversary. Those who love Disney Channel originalmovies about singing zombiesshould also keep a lookout. Lastly, a group of new documentaries takes viewers inside iconic Disneyland attractions to commemorate the park’s 70th anniversary. Take a look at every new movie coming to Disney+ in July 2025.

‘People and Places’ (Short Film Series)

Those of a certain age may recall Disney’s originalPeople & Placesseries. From 1953 to 1960, Disney released 17 documentary short films shot in various locations around the world. Typically released alongside Disney’s movies, seven of these shorts either won or were nominated for Academy Awards for Best Documentary or Live-action Short.People and Placeswas revived in 2024 when Disney acquired filmmaker Sean Wang’s shortNai Nai & Wai Pofor worldwide distribution. Four additional new shorts will be added to the platform in July 2025.

From superheroes and blockbuster sequels to horror films and indie thrillers, this summer is packed with reasons to hit the theater – 56, to be exact.

The Academy, Camp Alec, I Scream You Scream,andSophie and the Baronmake up the first batch of newPeople & Placesshorts.The Academyfollows a young woman from South Africa who discovers life on the ocean as she competes in the Royal Cape Yacht Club’s Round Robin race. A sleepaway camp for non-verbal children in Michigan is the setting forCamp Alec, which documents the unique lives and experiences of these campers.I Scream You Screamfeatures Geron, an ice cream seller who reconnects with his musically gifted son amid his quest to revisit his life as a DJ. Lastly,Sophie and the Baroncenters on artist Sophie Kipner and photographer Baron Wolman as they team up in an artistic collaboration.All four of these diverse pieces will be available to stream on July 9.

‘Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story’

Streaming July 11

June 20 marked 50 years since the release of thefirst true summer blockbusterand the greatest shark movie ever made.Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Storywill blend archive footage from the original film and interviews with experts in film, literature, and the ocean. Steven Spielberg, documentary director Laurent Bouzereau, ocean conservation advocate Wendy Benchley, and branding specialist Laura A. Bowling are working with National Geographic on this feature.

Jaws @ 50will dive into the behind-the-scenesprocess of writing the original book and the many issues with producing the movie. It explores how sharks have impacted our world, both past and present, and how the movie has shaped a new generation of shark lovers. How are sharks perceived today, and how much of that is thanks toJaws?OG fans and newerJawsaficionados can check out this love letter to the original film when it streams on July 11.

‘Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires’

Disney Channel’sZombieswas one of their most successful recent original movies. The 2018 original spawned two sequels in 2020 and 2022. This fourth installment features the return of original stars Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly and new additions Freya Skye and Malachi Barton, among others.

The P.O.V. docs will focus on attractions fromPirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, The Princess and the Frog, Jungle Cruise, The Avengers, several Pixar flicks, and icons like Hollywood Land, Main Street U.S.A., and Mickey’s Toontown.
