20th Century Fox unveiled their final installment of theX-Menprequel trilogy this weekend withX-Men: Apocalypsehitting theaters. This superhero adventure is set in the year 1983, 10 years after the events of 2014’sX-Men: Days of Future Pastand 20 years after the 2011 adventureX-Men: First Class. As one would expect, there are a slew of Easter Eggs and references to theX-Mencomics, cameo appearances such asWolverineand much more. Before you head to your local theater again, a new video has surfaced which breaks down all of these references. Of course, if you haven’t seenX-Men: Apocalypseyet, there will be plenty of SPOILERS below, so read on at your own risk.

Mr. Sunday Movieshas put together a seven and a half minute video that explains all of the nods to previousX-Men movies, the Marvel comics, and much more. Some of these references and cameos we already knew about, such as Wolverine’s (Hugh Jackman) appearance at the Alkali LakeWeapon Xfacility, which was teased in a previously-released trailer. There are also much more subtle nods, though, such as a scene whereProfessor X(James McAvoy) is reading from the book The Once and Future King to his students, which happens to be the same book Magneto (Ian McKellen) is seen reading during a prison scene in 2003’sX2: X-Men United.

There are also plenty of nods to the Marvel comics as well, including comic-accurate costumes forNightcrawler(Kodi Smit-McPhee), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence). Professor X is also seen in the same wheelchairPatrick Stewartused in the very firstX-Menmovie. As for the villainous Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), this video mentions that his scene where he talks about rebuilding the world appears to have been taken directly from the 1990sX-Menanimated series.

This movie also features plenty of nods to other franchises as well, with the young mutants all seen leaving a screening of the 1983Star WarssequelReturn of the Jedi, along with references toStar Trekand a 1955 movieLand of the Pharaohs. This video also delves into the post credit scene, where we’re introduced to a character known in the comics as Mister Sinister. This character is seen collecting Wolverine’s blood, with the most prevalent theory being that this blood will be used to create the mutant X23, who has been rumored to appear inWolverine 3, which is currently in production.

AfterWolverine 3hits theaters next year, we aren’t quite sure whatX-Menmovie will debut next. 20th Century Fox is getting ready to shootGambitlater this year, withDeadpool 2also rumored to shoot this fall. The studio is developingThe New Mutants, and producerSimon Kinberghas confirmed that the nextX-Menmovie will be set in the 1990s, but there isn’t much more we know about the future of this franchise. While we wait for more details to come in, take a look at this video that breaks down all of the Easter Eggs inX-Men: Apocalypse.
