The cast of the Ronald Reagan biopicReaganhas expanded with the addition ofMark Moses. The actor, best known for his roles onDesperate HousewivesandMad Men, will play Judge William P. Clark, someone who was a key figure in the Reagan Administration.Reaganis the first full-length feature film on the 40th U.S. President and it is currently being prepped for a 2023 theatrical release with Dennis Quaid starring in the titular role.

Judge William P. Clark was a close friend and confidante of Reagan, serving as his Executive Secretary during his Governorship and later as Deputy Secretary of State, National Security Advisor, and Secretary of the Interior during his presidency. Clark was also a cattle rancher who shared a love for horses with the president.

“Judge Clark was instrumental to Ronald Reagan’s rise as Governor of California and later as President," Moses said. “He was a complex and fascinating character.”

Of Moses' casting as Clark, director Sean McNamara added, “Mark is a supremely talented actor whom I had the good fortune to work with on two films. He was always my first choice for this important role and he gave an extraordinary performance. As Reagan’s closest friend, Judge Clark was the one who could talk to him about difficult subjects, which he regularly did. They had a special relationship.”

Reagan Also Stars Dennis Quaid as the Titular President

As mentioned above, Dennis Quaid plays Ronald Reagan inReagan. Previously, we also exclusively reported thatElya Baskin (Spider-Man 2 & 3) had been cast as Soviet defector B.E. Kertchman. The cast of the film also includes Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan, Mena Suvari as Reagan’s first wife Jane Wyman, Lesley-Anne Down as Margaret Thatcher, Kevin Dillon as Jack Warner, and Jon Voight as Viktor Petrovich, the Soviet spy who tracked Reagan for 30 years.

Reagan, shot in Oklahoma and California, follows the late actor and president’s journey from his childhood in Dixon, Illinois, to Hollywood to the White House as told through the voice of a Soviet spy.
