Jamesnovel it’s based on, the sequelFifty Shades Darkerwon’t be hitting theaters until February 2017, but Open Road Films has a new movie that could help to fill the void,Fifty Shades of Black. The studio is helping fans kick off 2016 in the right way, with a video featuring New Year’s Resolutions from Christian Black (Marlon Wayans).

These resolutions include “Become a Better Person,” “Be More Generous,” “Drink Less Alcohol,” “Eat Healthier,” “Explore New Cultures” and “Always Be Prepared.” Along with these resolutions, we also get some new footage from thisspoof comedy, featuringMarlon Wayansand his co-starsKali Hawk,Mike Epps,Affion Crockett. While this movie is obviously a spoof ofFifty Shades of Grey, this footage also shows that they poke fun ofMagic Mikeas well.

The supporting cast is rounded out byJane Seymour, Fred Willard, Andrew Bachelor, Kate Lang Johnson, Tina Grimm and Marissa D’Onofrio. Along with starring in the comedy,Marlon Wayansalso co-wrote the script with Rick Alvarez, who he has collaborated with onLittle Man,Dance Flick,A Haunted Houseand last year’sA Haunted House 2.

Michael Tiddes, who directedDance Flick,A Haunted HouseandA Haunted House 2, returns to the helm for this spoof, which is set to hit theaters nationwide on January 29. The comedy will be going up against a number of high-profile projects, Disney’sThe Finest HoursstarringChris Pine,Jane Got a GunstarringNatalie Portmanand theanimatedsequelKung Fu Panda 3. Whether or notFifty Shades of Blackcan hold its own at thebox officeremains to be seen.

Marlon Wayans' last spoof,A Haunted House 2, only earned $23 million worldwide last year, but it was produced for just $4 million. Given the popularity ofFifty Shades of Grey, it’s possible that some fans could giveFifty Shades of Blacka shot, while they wait for Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele to return to the big screen next year.
