Goodbye Christopher Robingives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A. A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin (Will Tilston), whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh. Along with his mother Daphne (Margot Robbie), and his nanny Olive (Kelly Macdonald), Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books, the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War. But with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?

Fox Searchlight Pictureshas also handed out a November 10 release date for this upcoming biopic, which puts thisperiod dramaright in the midst of some stiff competition. The movie will go up against Paramount’s comedy sequelDaddy’s Home 2, along with 20th Century Fox’sRed Sparrowand Sony’s animated movieThe Star. One week earlier, Marvel will roll out its superhero sequelThor: Ragnarokon November 3, which has been garnering plenty of buzz following the debut of the first trailer. Also arriving on November 3 is STX’s comedy sequelA Bad Moms Christmasand Paramount’s crime comedySuburbicon, while Warner Bros.‘Justice Leagueand Lionsgate’sWonderboth arrive a week afterGoodbye Christopher Robin, on November 17.

While it most certainly won’t be ready in time to compete withGoodbye Christopher Robin, there is a similar project that Disney is developing as well. The studio is developing a live actionChristopher Robin movie, which hasMarc Forster(Finding Neverland) attached to direct. This project will follow the fictional Christopher Robin character as an adult, a businessman whose work always comes before his wife and daughter, whose life is turned upside down when Winnie the Pooh comes back into his life.
