Abomination in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Is Tim Roth Done With the MCU?

Tim Roth made his MCU debut in 2008’sThe Incredible Hulk. While several parts of that movie were forgotten whenEdward Norton was recast, with Mark Ruffalo taking over as Bruce Banner in the MCU, Roth’s Emil Blonsky, a.k.a. The Abomination, persisted. The Abomination then appeared inShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, before getting a slightly larger role inShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Despite being an incredibly powerful character, The Abomination has been treated as more of a running joke within the MCU.

Fans are hoping to see Roth’s Emil Blonsky return in the MCU’s future. The character is expected to be one of the several dozen establishedMCU characters appearing inAvengers: Doomsday, which is currently in production. Unfortunately, The Abomination’s MCU future remains uncertain.

Action

Outside the MCU, Roth has been a long-time collaborator with Quentin Tarantino, starring inOnce Upon a Time… in Hollywood,The Hateful Eight, and many more. Roth is expected to return for Tarantino’s upcoming final movie, although details about the project are scarce after the director’s original idea,The Movie Critic, was scrapped.
