It was only a matter of time before one of the many canceled WBD “tax write-offs” managed to avoid being sent into the black hole that consumed the likes ofBatgirl. It seems that despite being written off by the studio as part of the massive cancelation sweep of 2022, the full animated movieScooby-Doo! And Krypto, Too!has been leaked in its entirety on the day it was revealed that anotherScooby-Dooproject, the HBO Max/Cartoonito seriesScooby-Doo! and the Mystery Pupswas dropped by the WBD.

The 78-minute movie was part of the studio’s cull of projects that came in the wake of the Warner Bros. and Discovery Inc. merger. While the last few months have been full ofScooby-Doo!chatter for the wrong reasons – namely the onlinehate being aimed at HBO Max’sVelmaseries– last year the Great Dane was the focus of several projects that were dumped as part of the WBD cost-cutting drive. Among the other projects canceled were aScoob! Sequel calledHoliday Haunt, and a new animated movie,Scooby-Doo! and the Haunted High Rise. However, the newest addition to those titles, which see’s Scooby-Doo teaming up with Superman’s dog Krypto, who was most recently seen on screen inlast year’sDC’s League of Super-Pets, managed to mainly slip under the radar despite stills being leaked early in 2022.

Will More Canceled WBD Titles End Up Leaking Online?

One thing that the internet has created is a very easy way for anyone to leak anything at any time. For many years, if a movie was destroyed, copied over or deleted then it tended to stay that way, as almost happened with movies likeNosferatuand certain versions of some “Video Nasties.” However, in a digital world, nothing is ever really gone, and that has been proven once again with the leaking ofScooby-Doo! And Krypto, Too!.While the movie originally appeared on 4chan, it did not take long for it to be downloaded from there and uploaded to many other file sharing sites.

Although many of the projects canceled by WBD were seemingly locked down and buried deep in the vaults, it is possible that somewhere a copy of everything put on the chopping block last summer is just waiting for someone to hit the upload button. While this obviously brings with it the threat of legal action, copyright blocks and such, that doesn’t always stop the release and spread of such files when it only takes seconds to achieve.

As the first canceled project to be leaked, WBD will no doubt be looking at exactly how the movie has managed to make its way into the world. Whether that will stop any similar leaks in the future, is something that only time will tell.
