Game of Thronesfans still have to wait quite a while before the 8th and final season of the hit HBO series premieres, but Emilia Clarke has already filmed Daenerys' final scene and it “f*cked” her up. The secrecy onGame of Thronesmay be even tighter than what Disney pulls off with theirStar Warsand Marvel movies. HBO has reportedly had decoy scripts made, alternate endings filmed, and FBI-level security to prevent anything from leaking and spoiling years of hard work for the final season.
We know that Season 8 has already filmed thebiggest battle in Game of Thrones historyof the hit HBO series, which is really saying something after theBattle of the Bastardsfrom Season 6. Now,Emilia Clarkehas revealed that the final scene that she shot as Daenerys left a long-lasting impression on her. The actress doesn’t go into detail, but what she says is pretty intriguing. Clarke had this to say.
“It f*cked me up. Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is…”
Emilia Clarke is a master of keeping secrets. Jumping into theStar Warsuniverse was a good choice for Emilia Clarke who is so closely identified as being the Mother of Dragons fromGame of Thrones.Solois enough of a jump for her to stretch her acting chops and play a character that is entirely different from Daenerys in a film that has a chance to be massive. In other words, if all goes well, Qi’ra will become almost as big as Daenerys to a new set of younger fans.
There is no official release date for Season 8 ofGame of Thrones, but it seems highly unlikely that we will see it before the end of the year. Hopefully early 2019 will see long-awaited series make its return for the final time. The season will be abbreviated, only featuring 6 episodes, which will all be longer than we’ve seen on the series thus far.
