The title for the upcoming monster mash sequel,Godzilla vs. Kong 2, has seemingly been revealed courtesy of several production gifts. Images of which have nowmade theirway online. Thus, the sequel to last year’s blockbuster movie will be titled simply…wait for it…Godzilla and Kong. The title suggests that the movie will once again feature both the legendary titans Godzilla and King Kong, only this time, they will not be at each other’s throats.
While there had been rumors thatGodzilla vs. Kong 2would contain the words “Son of Kong” in there somewhere, the studio has instead gone for something much simpler. This title reveal comesfollowing the recent revelation that the working title forGodzilla and KongwasOrigins. Which, much like the newly revealed official title, we can also garner some clues. So, it sounds likeGodzilla and Kongwill find the two monsters once again working together, much like they did during theGodzilla vs. Kongfinale, with the plot delving into the backstories of both characters.

Godzilla and Kongwill follow up the explosive showdown ofGodzilla vs. Kong“with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own,” the official outline for Godzilla vs. Kong 2 reads. “The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever."
Set to be once again helmed byGozilla vs. Kongdirector Adam Wingard,Godzilla and Kongwill be the fifth installment in Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse. The sequel will see Wingard reunite withThe Gueststar Dan Stevens, who will take over as the movie’s lead. Stevens will be joined by several familiar faces from the MonsterVerse, including Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes, Kaylee Hottle as Jia, with Fala Chen, Alex Ferns, and Rachel House due to join the fray.

A New Standalone Godzilla Movie Was Recently Announced
Not only will Godzilla return to the big screen inGodzilla and Kong,the iconic kaiju will also lead a standalone adventure courtesy of Toho Studios. The studio recently took to social media to announce the mysterious project, and while details remain under wraps at present, it has been revealed that the newGodzillaouting will be helmed by director Takashi Yamazaki, who is best known forAlways: Sunset on Third Streetand the more recent offeringsStand by Me Doraemon 2andDragon Quest: Your Story.
If that were not already enough monster mayhem, the MonsterVerse is also due to take over the small screen inGodzilla and the Titans.Led by father-son duo Kurt and Wyatt Russell, the series will pick up “following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the series explores one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.”
Godzilla and Kongis scheduled to be released on July 19, 2025.
