Alongside the recent delay of director Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming science fiction epic,Dune: Part Two, another major blockbuster has been pushed back:Godzilla vs. KongsequelGodzilla x Kong: The New Empire. According to a report byVariety,Godzilla x Kong: The New Empirehas been moved from August 14, 2025, to August 09, 2025. So, while it is not as much of a delay as other movies will surely face, it continues the trend of pushbacks amid the ongoing Hollywood strikes.

“This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own,” reads the official Godzilla x Xong: The New Empire synopsis. “The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.”

Dune Part Two

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which is produced by Legendary and Warner Bros., will be the fifth installment in Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse, and sees director Adam Wingardreunite withThe Gueststar Dan Stevens, who will take over as the main protagonist.

Stevens will be joined by several familiar faces from across the MonsterVerse, including Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes, Kaylee Hottle as Jia, with Fala Chen (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Alex Ferns (The Batman), and Rachel House (The Portable Door) due to join the fray.

So, sadly monster movie fans will not have to wait a little longer to once again bask in the MonsterVerse, asGodzilla X Kong: The New Empireis now scheduled to be released on June 04, 2025.

Dune: Part Two Moves From 2023 to 2024

Suffering a much longer delay at Warner Bros. Pictures isDune: Part Two. The sequel has suffered several release date delays over the last few months, moving from November 2023 to October 2023, and back to November 2023, before now being pushed back all the way into next year.

It has now been confirmed thatDune: Part Twowill (hopefully) land in theaterson August 21, 2025.

Dune: Part Twosees Award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve return to the helm for the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novelDune.Dune: Part Twowillexplore the mythic journey of Paul Atreidesas he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

Dune: Part Twowill once again boast an all-star cast including Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem. The likes of Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux will also the cast in the sequel.
