Someone has cast Engorgio on the cast list for HBO’sHarry Potterreboot, as the show recently added even more actors to its already sizeable troupe. Fans already knew who would be playing key roles, like Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snape, and Harry Potter himself. But the latest round of casting revealed that Johnny Flynn will be the new Lucius Malfoy, the ill-tempered, bitter, and well-conditioned patriarch of the Malfoy family.Jason Isaacsoriginally played the role in Warner Bros.' film franchise, and the actor has given Flynn the perfect piece of advice for playing the racist wizard in HBO’s upcoming reboot.
Following the casting announcement, Jason Isaacs took to X to praise the new additions to theHarry Potterfamily. As well as complimenting the choice of actors, Isaacs had some kind words to say aboutJohnny Flynn, the new Lucius Malfoy,as well as some very practical and on-brand advice. “A fantastic actor, a lovely man and, irritatingly, a rather brilliant musician too,” Isaacs said of hisHarry Potterreplacement. “Couldn’t have handed the snake-topped baton on to anyone better. Just please don’t make him sing…”

Alongside the kind-hearted message, Jason Isaacs also included three hashtags. The first two simply promoted the show, as they read “#HarryPotter” and “#JohnnyFlynn.” But the third was Isaacs giving Johnny Flynn the advice he wished he had followed during his time as Lucius Malfoy in theHarry Potterfranchise. “#KilltheElfEarly” was Isaacs’ recommendation to Flynn when he takes on the role. Potter-heads will immediately recognize this as a reference to Dobby, the iconic house elf who starts out as a slave under Lucius, before Harry Potter tricks the white-haired wizard into giving Dobby freedom.

It’s been a great week to be aHarry Potterfan. June 9 came with several major casting announcements for the upcoming HBO reboot series. The day started out with an important update from the Ministry of Magic, asBertie Carvel will play Cornelius Fudge,the Minister for Magic. The late Robert Hardy played the role in the original movies.
Then came the news that Harry Potter’s (Dominic McLaughlin) wicked aunt and uncle, the Dursleys, have also been cast.Daniel Rigby will play Vernon Dursley,with Bel Powley portraying Petunia Dursley. The casting for their son and Harry’s cousin, Dudley Dursley, hasn’t been announced yet. Finally, several more characters were revealed at once. Alongside Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, fans learned that Lox Pratt will play Lucius’ son, Draco Malfoy, who was famously portrayed by Tom Felton in the original movies.The IT Crowd’s Katherine Parkinson has been cast as Molly Weasley. Additionally, Leo Earley is Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni is Parvati Patil, and Siena Moosah is Lavender Brown. TheHarry Potterreboot series doesn’t yet have a release date.
