Catherine Corcoran, James A. Janisse, and Barbara Crampton are creatinga new podcastcalledScream Dreams, and it will be all about what gives people nightmares. The show will be produced by Alliance Media Partners (AMP), a sales, financing, and production company that gave usJakob’s Wife,Glorious, and the recently releasedSuitable Flesh. AMP’s involvement makes sense, since Crampton is the Vice President of Production & Development in the US. The other producers onScream Dreamsare Corcoran, AMP’s Bob Portal, and Rebekah McKendry.

“Each‘Scream Dreams’ episode delves deep into the mysterious world of guests’ actual nightmares and fears. Its audience can expect a tantalizing mix of intriguing questions, entertaining games, and even the appearance of a surprise visitor or two.”

All the hosts onScream Dreamshave some experience in what scares people. Corcoran, for instance, has appeared in quite a few different horror movies over the years. There’sReturn to Nuke ‘Em High Volume 1, followed many years later byReturn to…Return to Nuke ‘Em High Aka Vol. 2, though both of those films are more comedy than horror. There’s alsothe appropriately namedTerrifier. The hacksaw scene of the latter no doubt being something that has likely inspired a nightmare or two.

“As someone who has dreamt in exclusively nightmares my entire life, I have always wanted to understand what motivates fear - how it can shape us, hold us back or push us to achieve great things. Developing this show in a time riddled with uncertainty and fear, it seemed like a natural conversation to have. I think audiences will be blown away to unravel the subconscious motivations behind some of their favorite actors’ and filmmakers’ work but also be inspired by the ways in which they persevere. It’s a reminder to everyone that fear only has the power we give it,” said Corcoran.

Years later, after taking a break from acting to focus on her family, Crampton returned to the horror genre withYou’re Next. Back in August, Crampton posted on social media that she might start a podcast, and now she’s part of one.

“I have long wanted to enter the podcast space, so this venture is a ‘scream dream’ come true for me. Catherine’s and James’ ease in hosting, and my ‘Side-Barb’ segment, allow fun, revealing conversations to unfold with all our guests. I can’t wait for genre fans to check us out,” said Crampton

Janisse, unlike Corcoran and Crampton, hasn’t been an actor by trade. “I often fail to remember my dreams, so I’m very interested in seeing how filmmakers and actors use their dreams and nightmares as creative inspiration. Dreams often spawn from our innermost hopes, desires, and fears. To confront and discuss your nightmares is to open yourself up and make yourself vulnerable. Hearing these creative individuals speak so intimately is a gift, especially as it leads to deeper conversations about their lives and work. This podcast will be a treasure for anyone who admires horror, genre and the creative process in general,” said Janisse.
