Hugh Jackmanjoined fellowDeadpool 3star Ryan Reynolds in celebrating the end of filming on the upcoming MCU movie. Having originally hung up his Wolverine claws after 2019’sLogan, it is clear that Jackman has loved this unexpected return to a character he has become synonymous with.
Having started out as nothing more than a wishful bit of fan-fiction, the idea of Jackman and Reynolds sharing the big screen together as Wolverine and Deadpool came from nowhere and took Marvel fans by surprise back in 2022. Now, after delays caused by the Hollywood strikes,Deadpool 3has wrapped and is heading into post-production. Jackman took to hisX (formerly Twitter)account to share his joy at being a part of 2024’s only MCU movie.
What a ride!!! I’ve loved every minute of making this movie. Well not the training and diet but the other 93.2%. To the best cast and crew, thank you! You are all aces. His sentiment may not have included the same kind of backhanded compliment/gentle jibing that Reynolds shared in his own message, but it does echo the love that the two men have for each other, and the movie. All of this certainly bodes well for the film’s release this July, something that fans are just as eager for as Jackman himself.

How Will Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Enter the MCU?
Right now, this is something everyone is asking but only those who worked on the movie know. Despite several big spoilers being revealed in the form of leaked set images, some of which only landed online in the last few days despiteReynolds making a plea for it to stop, there is still very little confirmed about the actual plot of the movie, or how Jackman’s comic accurate Wolverine comes to be in the same world as Reynolds’ Deadpool.
Deadpool 2featured a huge cameo moment, when several prominent stars of Fox’s X-Men prequel movies made a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance. While it has not been confirmed whether any of those stars will also appear inDeadpool 3, it is clear that the Merc with a Mouth will cross paths with several characters from the originalX-Menmovie, as well as Jackman’s Wolverine.
Of course, the last year has seen the MCU building more of their multiverse, with “incursions” allowing several realities to collide, with some surprising returns and arrivals in the franchise. Most prominent of these has been the inclusion of Beast, voiced by Kelsey Grammer,in the post-credit scene ofThe Marvelslast November. With his appearance also having been adapted from his appearance inX-Men: The Last Stand, it could be that he and Jackman’s Wolverine inhabits the same universe.
All will obviously be revealed on July 26, but we can expect plenty more teasing from both Jackman and Reynolds before then.
