Today, September 17, is Batman Day, which was created in honor of the Dark Knight’s 75th Anniversary. To celebrate,Justice Leaguedirector Zack Snyder has debuted a first look photo of actor J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. He is seen posing with the iconic Bat-signal in a classic black and white pose that brings back the iconic tone and feel of some of the earliest Detective Comics.
This latest image comes not long after Warner Bros. debuted a newLego Batman Movieposter in honor of thissuperhero holiday. The director didn’t want to be left out, either. As you can see below, the man behind DC’sWatchmen,Man of SteelandBatman V Supermangot in on the fun by sharing a photo of himself standing alongside the new Bat-Signal, which was first introduced in this spring’sDawn of Justice.
Though we sawJ.K. Simmonsgetting quite buff for his role as Gordon in Justice League, he was one of the few characters we’ve yet to see in costume.Justice Leaguehas been shooting since March, and it is now entering its homestretch. Here, Simmons is seen in his iconic trenchcoat, standing on the roof of theGCPD. And it’s clear that he needs Batman’s help.
