Pruitt Taylor Vince has had recurring roles in shows likeStranger Things,True Blood, andInfamous. The actor has also featured in a DC Comics-based movie before, starring in the Keanu Reeves-ledConstantineas Father Hennessy. Following this announcement,Deadlinereported that Gunn has cast Neva Howell as Martha Kent in hisSupermanreboot. Howell’s biggest roles have been in the 2018 movieBurden, starring Forest Whitaker, and the 2010 sci-fi seriesBeckinfield.
The pair aretaking over from Kevin Costnerand Diane Lane, who played Jonathan and Martha Kent, respectively, in the Zack Snyder-led DC Extended Universe. Snyder’sMan of Steelalso made the controversial decision to kill off Jonathan Kent in the opening act. DC fans are hoping to see more of Pruitt Taylor Vince’s iteration in James Gunn’s reboot.

Superman actor David Corenswet reveals the name of two key comic books that inspired the upcoming DCU movie.
David Corenswet leads the film as Clark Kent/Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Opposing Superman will be Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.House of the Dragonstar Milly Alcock has been cast as Gunn’s version of Supergirl, replacing Sasha Calle who portrayed the character inThe Flash. Of course, no James Gunn project would be complete without an appearance from Nathan Fillion, with the actor set to play Guy Gardner/The Green Lantern inSuperman. Edi Gathegi also has the chance to redeem his short-lived turn as Darwin inX-Men: First Class, by playing Mister Terrific.Dora and the Lost City of Goldstar Isabela Merced will portray Hawkgirl. Anthony Carrigan, known for his long-running role inBarry, will play Metamorpho. Skyler Gisondo has been cast as Clark Kent’s friend Jimmy Olson. And,The WireandSuitsstar Wendell Pierce is playing Perry White, Editor-in-Chief at the Daily Planet.
