This summer we’ll finally see actor Matt Damon take back the lead with the highly anticipated,Jason Bourne. Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role inJason Bournewith director Paul Greengrass, the director ofThe Bourne SupremacyandThe Bourne Ultimatum, which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative drawn out of the shadows in the next chapter ofUniversal Pictures' Bourne franchise. New footage has been unleashed today as the second trailer for the movie has arrived.

It’s been9 years sincewe last saw Jason Bourne in 2007’sThe Bourne Ultimatum. In the years between, Matt Damon had often said they hadn’t found a story that was worth returning to the franchise for. While we still don’t have too many plot details,Matt Damonactually co-wrote the script with Paul Greengrass and Christopher Rouse (Captain Phillips,Green Zone). Damon himself revealed last year that the story is set in the post-Snowden world, referencing formerNSA analyst Edward Snowden, who leaked thousands of classified documents that exposed how the government was spying on the American public. The movie will be exploring the nature of spy agencies and civil liberties.

For Jason Bourne, Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel andTommy Lee Jones, while Julia Stiles reprises her role in the series. Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment, and Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also produce. Based on characters created by Robert Ludlum, the film is written by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse.
