The cast of the upcoming romantic comedy movieThat’s Amore!is coming together withJohn Travolta(Look Who’s Talking) andKatherine Heigl(Firefly Lane) set to play the lead roles.Deadlinereports that in addition to the two actors signing on, veteran actorChristopher Walken(Severance) is also in talks to take on a starring role in the film. Nick Vallelonga, who won two Oscars for co-writing and producingGreen Book, will be writing and directing. Dante Spinotti (The Last of the Mohicans) will serve as cinematographer.
That’s Amore!will see Travolta taking on the role of Nick Venere, a “modern-day ‘Marty’ – he’s never been married and his best dating years are well behind him. He’s never heard the words ‘I love you' and figures he never will. Patty Amore (Heigl) has her share of problems, as well. Shy and introverted, she’s filled with various tics and nervous habits. A secret from her past, combined with her over-protective father, have caused her to withdraw from the dating game. But when Nick and Patty meet, literally bumping into one another, they share an immediate connection. When these two emotionally damaged people attempt to date one another, their families get involved, and the results are hilarious.”
Vallelonga is also set to produce via Vallelonga Productions. Also producing are Cassian Elwes via Elevated Films and American Troubadours' Brenda Emmett and Vince Emmett. David Polemeni is executive producing alongside Palisade Park Pictures' Tamara Birkemoe and Mark Damon.

Katherine Heigl and John Travolta Unite for the New Rom-Com
Heigl is well known for her role onGrey’s Anatomy, a performance that earned her a Primetime Emmy Award. On the film side, she is also known her starring in many hit rom-coms, including movies likeKnocked Upwith Seth Rogen,27 Dresseswith James Marsden,The Ugly Truthwith Berard Butler, andLife as We Know Itwith Josh Duhamel. More recently, Heigl appeared in the thrillersUnforgettableandFear of Rain, and had starring roles in the TV showsSuitsandFirefly Lane.
Travolta’s many accolades into garnering Oscar nominations for his roles inSaturday Night FeverandPulp Fiction. The actor also won a Golden Globe forGet Shortyalong with an Emmy win for producingAmerican Crime Story: The People v. O. J. Simpson, of which he was also nominated for an acting award. A veteran actor, some of his many memorable hit films from years past includeGrease,Face/Off,Hairspray, andMichael. Last year, he reunited withPulp Fictionco-star Bruce Willis for the filmParadise City.
That’s Amore!will start production in August. The movie does not yet have a release date.
