Keanu Reeves’John Wickis one of the great modern action heroes, and across four movies has been stabbed, shot, beaten, but always manages to keep moving forward. Wick has proven himself to be unstoppable, but could another creation ofJohn Wickwriter Derek Kolstad, namely Bob Odenkirk’s Hutch Mansell, akaNobody, best the dog-loving assassin? Well, speaking recently withTHR, Kolstad himself has answered that very question. And his answer might surprise you…
“It’d never get to a fight. They would show up, look each other in the eye and say, ‘Let’s go get a beer.'”

So, there we have it. Instead of drawing weapons or throwing fists, John Wick and Hutch would find a mutual respect and share a drink rather than punches. Which does sound like a much more pleasant evening for both of them. Though they perhaps wouldn’t fight against each other, the idea of them teaming up to take on a shared enemy (and stopping for a beer afterward) is certainly something that many an action movie fan has dreamed of.
The John Wick Series Doesn’t Work Without Keanu Reeves, but it’s Going to Try Anyway
For obvious reasons, it’s hard to continue the John Wick series with Keanu Reeves beyond Chapter 4, but Lionsgate and Chad Stahelski are going to try.
TheJohn Wicksaga began back in 2014, and since then has become one of the most popular action franchises of all time. The series recently came to a (possible) end with last year’sJohn Wick: Chapter 4. Directed by Chad Stahelski but this time written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch rather than Kolstad, who write the first three John Wick outings, the fourthJohn Wickwas met with widespread acclaim.

WhileJohn Wick: Chapter 4seemingly brings the main series of movies to an end, talk of aJohn Wick 5has already begun.
Bob Odenkirk Thinks Hutch Being an Out of Shape Loser Is an Advantage
A docile family man slowly reveals his true character after his house gets burgled by two petty thieves, which, coincidentally, leads him into a bloody war with a Russian crime boss. Starring Bob Odenkirk and Christopher Lloyd.
As for Odenkirk’sNobody, the actor revealed to THR what his action hero has that many often don’t…being a schlubby loser.
“I think it’s an advantage. A lot of action movies, where the guys are too handsome and built, it’s hard for the audience to buy into the idea that they’re in danger. I don’t have that problem. Audiences genuinely see me and go, “Oh, jeez, this guy is screwed. He’s going to get his ass handed to him.” He doesn’t get to win by sheer muscle because he doesn’t have that. He gets to win through tenacity and cleverness.”
Directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Derek Kolstad,NobodyfindsBetter Call Saulstar Bob Odenkirk as the seemingly mild-mannered Hutch Mansell. When two thieves break into his suburban home one night, Hutch declines to defend himself or his family. But really, the incident reawakens something in Hutch, a long-simmering rage, and propels him on a brutal path that will surface dark secrets and lethal skills.
A sequel is now in development, with producer David Leitch confirming in 2022 that the script is being worked on, withNobodystar Connie Nielsenconfirming recently thatNobody 2is coming.
Odenkirk and Kolstad, meanwhile, will also launcha new action movie withNormal, which finds the actor once again stepping into the role of unlikely man of action, Ulysses, a temporary sheriff who uncovers a deep criminal conspiracy at the heart of the town of Normal and realizes that everyone, from the bartender to the priest, is in on it.
