Several legacy characters fromJurassic Parkare due to play a big role in upcoming sequel,Jurassic World: Dominion, with directorColin Trevorrownow revealing that one will play the movie’s main villain. But don’t panic, Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm have not turned to the dark side. Instead,Jurassic Parks’Lewis Dodgson will return alongside the beloved trio, played byThe Amazing Spider-Man 2’sCampbell Scott.
“He is the main villain throughout both of [Crichton’s] novels, and I think what Campbell’s done with the character is just amazing. I can’t wait for people to see it.”

Dodgson, we’ve got Dodgson here! Appearing in the firstJurassic Parkway, way back in 1993, and best known for no one caring about what he has to say, Lewis Dodgson was originally played by Cameron Thor. A ruthless and humorless head of research at Biosyn, Dodgson hires Dennis Nedry to steal dinosaur embryos from Jurassic Park. While that particular scheme did not play out as he had planned, Trevorrow’s recent revealtion while speaking withEWcertainly suggests that Dodgson will return with an all-new nefarious plot inJurassic World: Dominion.
While plot details forJurassic World: Dominionare mostly being kept under wraps, the last movie in the ongoing franchise,Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, ended with several different species of dinosaur now let loose upon the world. Thus, it is expected thatJurassic World: Dominionwill find Jeff Goldblum’s Dr. Ian Malcolm, Sam Neill’s Dr. Alan Grant and Laura Dern’s Dr. Ellie Sattler brought in to help stop the prehistoric beasts alongsideJurassic World’sChris Prattand Bryce Dallas Howard.

Further details are largely unknown, but the events ofJurassic World: Dominionwill see the original trio brought back into the prehistoric fray, joining forces withJurassic World’sBryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt to help tackle the dinosaur threat, and no doubt put a stop to whatever evil plan Lewis Dodgson has up his sleeve.
While some had expected theJurassic Parkgang to have a minor role in proceedings, director Colin Trevorrow has teased how critical the original cast of characters will be to the events ofJurassic World: Dominion. “They are such big characters in the film. It’s not a cameo,” the filmmaker said earlier this year. “They’re in the whole movie, so I think it’ll be difficult to market the film without revealing them because they’re all over it. I think that their roles are just as big as Chris and Bryce’s are. So it’s really a story that is two parallel lines that are getting closer and closer together until they collide. The thing that I could do that would show the most respect to these characters is put them on an adventure together and not just have them sit around. I don’t want them commenting on what’s going on. I want him to be in it. So that’s what we did.”
Following a series of delays,Jurassic World: Dominionis now scheduled for theatrical release on June 09, 2025, by Universal Pictures and stars Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Omar Sy, and BD Wong alongside Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum.
