Production has been well under way onJustice Leaguesince mid-April, but aside from details revealed during some journalists' set visit, very little about the movie is known. WhenBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicewas in production last year, directorZack Snyderwould occasionally debut the first look at characters like Batman (Ben Affleck), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). Now that these characters have been established, it doesn’t seem likely that we’ll see much from these characters quite yet, but today we have newconcept artfeaturing all of theJustice Leagueheroes' new costumes.

The image surfaced on Twitter, but it originated on the special features of theBatman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeUltimate Edition, which is now available on Digital HD formats ahead of its Blu-ray and DVD release on July 19. As of now, it’s the closest thing we have to an official look at the new costumes, but hopefully we’ll get our first look at all of these heroes in costume soon. It isn’t know how longprincipal photographywill last onJustice League, which has been given a July 03, 2025.

Justice League Concept Art

The concept art doesn’t reveal too many noticeable changes for theBatmancostume, but costume designerMichael Wilkinsondid shed some light on the subtle nuances fans may see inJustice League. The interview took place on the set in London a few weeks ago, with the costume designer revealing he was influenced by samurai warriors for part of Batman’s costume. Here’s what he had to say below.

“One new detail is thatZack [Snyder]wanted a little more sense of armor and deflection on his gauntlets when he is shot at, and so I designed these [gloves] that are kind of based on the samurai. We know from Bruce Wayne’s history that he studied martial arts in Japan, so I thought that could be appropriate. But we sort of modernized it with a Wayne Tech aesthetic here. It’s a little more aggressive.”

The costume designer also teased that there is a new protective system for Batman that resides within the cowl, which also serves as a way to communicate with Alfred Pennyworth (Jeremy Irons) and other members of theJustice League. He also teased that Batman is designing a tactical suit in the movie, and he will have a new vehicle known as the Nightcrawler, along with another vehicle that transports the entireJustice Leagueteam dubbed the Flying Fox. Here’s what he had to say about the tactical suit.

“We loved the way, in the comic books, that Batman’s always drawn with these white flashes for eyes. So we played around with ways of doing that, and realized that they would sort of catch the light, to call to mind that classic age from the comic books.”
