But, like the golden age of the Western genre, all things must come to an end, andHorizon's time on its current streaming home will soon be over. But those who still haven’t seen the underrated Western epic or those who want to watch it again for the 457th time, still have a few days left to watchHorizonon Netflix.
Horizon: An American Sagaleaves Netflix’s streaming library on July 16th. Fans were hoping that the film’s immense success on streaming (Horizonshot into Netflix’s top 10 chart when it was added to the platform) would aid the chances ofChapter 2eventually being released. But, with the movie now set to leave Netflix, it doesn’t appear as though the brief streaming partnership has helped as much as fans hoped. It’s not all bad news, though. Fans who want to have their 458th watch ofHorizoncan still stream the movie on Max (soon to be HBO Max).

Horizon: An American Saga: Chapter 1was released in theaters on June 28. Co-written, directed, produced by, and starring Kevin Costner,Horizonis the first entry in his four-part cinematic saga. The first installment features an all-star cast, including Sienna Miller, Ella Hunt, Sam Worthington, Jamie Campbell Bower, Michael Rooker, Luke Wilson, Danny Huston, and more. The film details the turbulent birth of the titulartown of Horizon in the untamed American West.Costner plays Hayes Ellison, a lone gunslinger who is one of many stragglers and survivors in the West seeking a fresh start, leading him to Horizon.
What Is Going On with ‘Horizon - Chapter 2’?

The big question mark looming over theHorizonfranchise is the state ofHorizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2. The film has been developed, shot, edited, and even screened to some lucky viewers at select film festivals. However, the sequel still hasn’t secured a distributor for theatrical release. Many fans would even settle for the sequel releasing directly on streaming. However, it appears as though Costner is adamant about a theatrical release.
There is currently no news on whetherChapter 2will be released in theaters. The state of the franchise is currently turbulent, especially with theongoing lawsuits leveled against Costnerand the film’s production companies.
But, despiteChapter 2being kept in limbo, Kevin Costner has already turned his attention toChapter 3. Dunny Huston recently revealed that most ofHorizon - Chapter 3has already been shot.“I think he’s got a lot ofChapter 3in the can, actually,” Huston said. Unfortunately, there’s currently no word as to if or when we’ll seeChapter 2orChapter 2for ourselves.
