TheSex and the Citydrama continues as Kim Cattrall doubles down, flat out saying that she was never friends with her costars on the wildly popular HBO series and later movies. The 61-year old, who playedSamantha Jones, told Piers Morgan on ITV that there was a “toxic relationship.” The situation seems to have come to a boiling point since Cattrall is being publicly blamed forSex and the City 3not happening, leading many fans to express their outrage towards the actress.
Kim Cattrall appeared on Piers Morgan’sLife Storiesshow and shed some more light on the subject while slammingSarah Jessica Parkerand saying that, “I really think she could have been nicer.” As it turns out, Cattrall never wanted to do the thirdSex and the Citymovie and it appears as if she might have had her back to the wall by the rest of the cast and crew, but the actress claims that she had publicly stated for the last year that she had zero interest in returning to theSex and the Cityfranchise in any way shape or form.
When Sarah Jessica Parker was asked about the situation late last month, she explained thatSex and the City 3was not happening anymore, but did not give a reason, which led to the fans jumping on Kim Cattrall and blaming her. As it turns out, that silence is what seems to have angered Cattrall the most. When asked if the cast were friends, the actress had this to say.
“We’ve never been friends. We’ve been colleagues and in some ways it’s a very healthy place to be because then you have a clear line between your professional life and relationship and your personal.”
When it was revealed thatSex and the City 3was not happening, rumors started to swirl that it was because of ridiculous demands that Kim Cattrall had and that she was holding out for more money. All of which the actress denies and could have been denied by Sarah Jessica Parker as well, but she chose to keep quiet and let the media storm surrounding Cattrall swell. Cattrall had this to say.
“This is really where I take to task the people fromSex and the City, specifically Sarah Jessica Parker, is that I think she could’ve been nicer. I really think she could have been nicer.”
As it turns out, nobody from the cast ofSex and the Citypicked up the phone to discuss the situation with Kim Cattrall, which prompted the actress to call the relationship “toxic.”
So, it turns out that the stars ofSex and the Citywere all a lot better actresses than anyone ever gave them credit for. Those four women looked like thebest of friendson and off the set. Who knows? This could all be some sour grapes, but this seems to be quite the shocker for fans ofSex and the City. You can check out more of Kim Cattrall’s interview below courtesy ofPage Six.
