Warner Bros. has set an Jul 26, 2025, release date forRemain, directed by Shyamalan and starring Gyllenhaal alongside Phoebe Dynevor (Fair Play) and Ashley Walters (Adolescence). It will compete against Jordan Peele’s next film, which is set up at Universal Pictures. Shyamalan’s return to WB was previously assumed due to his first-look deal with the studio.Remainwill hit theaters next year afterTrapmade over $86 million at the box officefor WB on a $30 million production budget in 2024. One of M. Night Shyamalan’s most recent thrillers starring Anya Taylor-Joy is streaming for free.
As mentioned,Remainis based on a book by Sparks that is set to release on Oct. 7 later this year. The novel was announced witha slew of plot details, which will surely help fans get a good idea of what the Shyamalan production will be about. Gyllenhaal will play Tate Donovan, an architect from New York who is looking for a “fresh” start on Cape Cod after a stint at a psychiatric facility.
