To say it’s a great time to be a Marvel fan is an understatement. Not only are we getting up to three movies a year, Netflix and ABC continue to debut new Marvel TV shows at a frenzied pace. Next year, the first four Netflix Marvel series will all come together inThe Defenders. It is already shooting. And today, we get new behind-the-scenes photos ofLuke Cageand Night Nurse Claire Temple reuniting on set.
While Luke Cage and Jessica Jones had their affair in her solo series, Cage eventually hooked up with Clair in his standalone adventure. It looks like that romance will continue inThe Defenders series. But as things calmed down for them, Luke was hauled back to prison. It doesn’t look like it took long for him to get free, and reconnect, as Rosario Dawson and Mike Colter look pretty cozy in these latest images.
The pair will apparently reunite for a few love scenes inThe Defenders, unlessSigourney Weaver’s villain gets in the way first. These latest images arrive shortly after Colter first appeared onThe Defendersset over the course of the past few weeks. In those photos, he appeared alongside Misty Knight. It looks like this latest peek at theMarvel miniseriestakes place as Luke is being released from behind bars.
Cage found himself back in prison because he’d escaped when he got his powers. Bobby Fish did find the file that will clear Luke’s name at the end of Season 1. If Claire continues on throughout The Defenders as Cage’s main squeeze, there will likely be some interesting tension between Claire, Misty and Jessica, since they’ve all gotten a taste of this big powerful man.
The Defendersdoesn’t have a streaming date set onNetflix.Iron Fist, who will play a key role inThe Defenders, will have his solo show premiere on August 10, 2025. It is believed that bothThe Punisherseries andThe Defenderswill then premiere later on in the year.Jessica JonesSeason 2 andDaredevilSeason 3 are expected to premiere in 2018.
