Those who have been enjoying the little corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that exists on Netflix are very much looking forward toThe Defendersminiseries, which is set to hit the streaming service later this year. Before that happens, we need to be introduced to the last Defender;Iron Fist. Danny Rand’s solo series is set to debut on Netflix in March and now, a bunch of the episode titles and the directors of those episodes have been revealed.
Fair warning, some of these episode titles could be considered spoilers, so be aware of that before reading them. Thanks toBleeding Cool, we now have the titles for all but two episodes (10 and 12) ofIron Fist. Bleeding Cool came across the titles because the British government’s censorship board has been reviewing the episodes and rating them ahead of the release of the series. It turns out the show is going to be fairly violent, which is something we have come to expect, especially inDaredevil Season 2. Here is the synopsis forIron Fist.
“Danny Randreturns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”
In terms of how violentMarvel’s Iron Fistis going to be, the BBFC has rated most of the episodes a 15, which means that they will feature “strong violence” and can’t be sold to anyone under the age of 15. However, episode 7 of the show, which is titled “Felling With Tree Routes,” was rated an 18. That means when the DVD/Blu-ray set comes out, the entire thing will have to be rated 18 in the U.K., thanks to that one episode. The only other episode to not receive a 15 was episode 11, which is titled “Lead Horse Back to Stable.” That episode was given a more tame rating of 12, so that may be the episode where we all get to catch our breathe a bit before the presumably more violent two-episode conclusion ofIron Fist Season 1.
The BBFC also revealed most of the directors who worked on the series during the process of their rating theIron Fistepisodes. The directors revealed wereJohn Dahl,Tom Shankland,Uta Briesewitz,Farren Blackburn,Kevin Tancharoen,Deborah ChowandStephen Surjik.John Dahldirected the first two episodes ofIron Fist, so he gets the honor of setting the tone for the show and he seems like a very capable guy for the job. He has directed a ton of TV in recent years likeHouse of Cards,Ray Donovanand even an episode ofJessica Jones. He also directed the movieRoundersin the late 90s. His resume definitely seems like an appropriate one to qualify him to kickoff the last solo series beforeThe Defendersunite later this year.
Netflix hasn’t set an exact premiere date forThe Defendersyet, butIron Fistis set to land on the streaming service on June 11, 2025.Finn Jonesis playing the title character in the series and he will be joined byCarrie-Anne Moss, who is reprising her role fromJessica Jonesas Jeri Hogarth. The rest of the cast is rounded out byJessica Henwickas Colleen Wing,David Wenhamas Harold Meachum,Jessica Stroupas Joy Meachum andTom Pelphreyas Ward Meachum.
