Speaking exclusively with MovieWeb,Fast CharliestarMorena Baccarinhas offered some insight into what it was like working with the late, great acting icon that wasJames Caan. Asked about her experience working with Caan, who sadly passed away in July 2022 at the age of 82, Baccarin describedThe Godfatherstar as “a legend,” revealing that she was “very starstruck” when first meeting him. See what she said below…
“Very interesting. He’s such a legend. I was very starstruck and really excited to be in a scene with him. He definitely was very frail. And you could tell he was suffering a bit, like he just wasn’t in great health. But he was so present and excited to work and creative, and it’s like, I remember thinking, ‘This is how I want to go out, doing what I love.’ And you can tell he did it till the very last breath. And he was playing this sort of fragile character with dementia, and I can’t tell till this day if he was struggling to remember lines, or if that was part of his character. You know what I mean? He was just that good.”

Pierce Bronsan & James Caan Bonded Like Father and Son While Filming Fast Charlie

In a previous interview with MovieWeb,Fast Charliedirector Phillip Noyce revealed howclose Pierce Brosnan and James Caan becameduring filming, describing them as being “like a father and a son.”
“The relationship between him and Pierce was like a father and a son. Pierce, he’s a very sensitive guy. I think that he probably intuitively felt what was going on under the surface for James. James had a wheelchair as a prop, but Pierce was wheeling him all around the set and sort of looking after him. Pierce has an enormous respect for James. So the on-screen and off-screen relationship started to merge.”
Morena Baccarin is due to reprise the role of Vanessa in the upcoming Marvel sequelDeadpool 3, starring alongside Ryan Reynolds as the titular antihero and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Baccarin recently revealed that she had completed filming on the threequel,and teased a “fun surprise”for MCU fans.
“It did work out. I finished my shooting days on it already. The film is now underway again after the strike, and I think it’s going to be quite good. I think fans are in for a fun surprise.”
