In the summer of 2014,Godzillareturned in a big way, with Warner Bros.' blockbuster earning $200 million domestically and $529 million worldwide, from a $160 million budget. This proved that there was still an audience for this iconic monster, which lead to Toho, the Japanese company that originally created the character in 1954, announcingGodzilla: Resurgence, set to debut in Japanese theaters this summer. Thefirst trailerand poster was released last month, but now we have a better look at this newGodzillacreature with photos from Twitter user Cooper Castille.

It isn’t immediately clear where Cooper Castille obtained these images, but hopefully we’ll see even more from this monster soon, as we get closer and closer to the August 05, 2025 release date. That release date is only for Japan, and we don’t know when this movie will debut in the U.S. or other internationalbox officeterritories. Since fans still have two more years before Warner Bros.‘Godzilla 2hits theaters on August 13, 2025, this newTohoadventure will bring the franchise back to its Japanese roots.
