Osgood Perkins, the director of modern horror gems likeLonglegsandThe Monkey, continues to consolidate his position asone of the genre’s most interesting visionaries. His latest project,Keeper, is shrouded in secrecy, but the film’s distributor is once again proving they are the masters of modern film marketing. Following an exciting announcement of a deal they have put together with Perkins, NEON has released an unsettling video that teases the director’s upcoming movie and its bizarre marketing campaign. Things are about to get weird.

Using YouTube, NEON went on a livestream yesterday. The video titled “It has no end” ran for precisely 66 minutes and six seconds – a running time that has to mean something (yes, it’s 666). The video, which is currently available to play on YouTube, presents a nightmarish and repetitive image of a woman (Tatiana Maslany) staring at the camera, while a hand scribbles something on a notebook. It isn’t clear if she’s doing the writing, or if she’s alive or dead. The sound of the writing itself is the basis of an upsetting ASMR experience that you’ll have a hard time forgetting.
