The fact of the matter is that literature and motion pictures are very different art forms, and the translation of stories from one to the other requires much reshaping. Rare is the adaptation that matches or transcends the quality of its source. A film can be so faithful to its source material that it fails to create its own experience; or it can divert so much from the original story that the only thing they share is a title....

Some select members of the press got to see over 27 minutes of footage from Disney and Lucasfilm’sThe Mandalorian, the first ever live-actionStar WarsTV show. And the overwhelming consensus is that this truly ‘feels likeStar Wars’. It has been called a throwback to the original trilogy, with a story that takes place just after the events seen inReturn of the Jedi. TheMadeafranchise is coming to a close.Tyler Perryhas announced thatA Madea Family Funeral, which comes out next year, will be the final time that he plays the elderly woman on the big screen. The Madea character was 68-years old when Perry first introduced her to the world with a stage show 20 years ago, but it isn’t clear how old the fictional character is at this current time. With that being said, Perry says that he doesn’t “want to be her age (still) playing her....

A new list of MPA film ratings has revealed thatWes Anderson’s upcoming movieAsteroid Cityhas been given an R-rating. However, the film’s current rating comes with a note that Anderson is planning to appeal the decision with the C.A.R.A. Appeals board. Although the movie will join the minuscule 1.4% that appeal the Motion Picture Association’s rating decisions, there is no guarantee that the appeal against the R-rating will be a success....

As is usually the case with theTransformersmovies, it was by most accounts an excellent trailer. There was a whole lot ofAnthony Hopkinsnarration, a little bit of Nazi action and perhaps most importantly, Optimus Prime was fighting Bumblebee and seemingly about to kill him.
