WARNING: Spoilers ahead for thePercy Jackson & the Olympiansbook series.

With just two weeks to go until the Disney+ two-episode premiere ofPercy Jackson and the Olympians. The first season is almost here, and everything leading up to it (trailers, posters, actors, etc.) has been very promising, including the recently released official trailer. Now that the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are over, the creators and actors can promote the film, leading to more anticipation than ever from audiences.

While the show will primarily focus on the leading trio (Percy, Annabeth, and Grover), we will be introduced to other demigods as the series progresses. We will witness what each character is capable of and how they hold their own in battle. This makes us wonder who will be the most powerful demigod. With the show only having one season so far, we cannot incorporate other fan favorites like Nico di Angelo or Piper McLean, who are in the rest of thePercy Jacksonfranchise. Let’s get into the demigods in the first season and see what they can do.

Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon

Percy Jackson & the Olympians

Is there really competition when it comes to the son of Poseidon? Yes, actually, as he is just learning about his Olympian heritage and doesn’t know the limit of his powers yet. Just wait until you get into theHeroes of Olympusseries. In the first fivePJObooks, Percy learns new abilities regarding the ocean, and his combat skills improve over time. We might even see his powers progress ina potential second season.

Whenever he is in water, whatever wounds he has heals. He can also control/create water, even when the water source is far away from him (like inBattle of the Labyrinthwhen he made Mt. Saint Helens erupt). Percy can speak telepathically to any and all sea creatures, as well as horses since Poseidon is the god who created horses. Even though he is just starting as a camper, he already has a natural skill at swordsmanship. He is almost never without his trusty pen sword, Riptide.

Percy Jackson Series

Annabeth Chase Is a Demigod With Experience

Compared to Percy, Annabeth has more experience in the knowledge of being a demigod and anything doing with Mount Olympus. She ran away from home around the age of 7 and met up with two other demigods like her: Luke Castellan and Thalia Grace. Her smarts and her mother’s guidance kept her alive when she was all alone.

To those who have read the books, remember that with thefamily-friendly approach to the series, certain events from this time might be censored. As the daughter of Athena, Annabeth relies on her wits to overcome any challenge ahead of her. Being Wisdom’s daughter, she does not have any powers compared to Percy’s ability to control water. She has extensive knowledge of mythological gods and monsters, trained well with a dagger, and knows combat warfare strategy. She takes on the leader role of the group despite Percy technically being the show’s main protagonist. Annabeth is a force to be reckoned with.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Shares New Look as Series Budget Is Unveiled

Percy Jackson and the Olympians episodes budget is high, but is it high enough?

Clarisse La Rue, Daughter of Ares

As the daughter of the war god Ares, Clarisse will be physically strong, and thePercy Jacksonseriesdisplays this better than the film ever did. She is the more aggressive demigod compared to Percy, Annabeth, and just about any other demigod at Camp Half Blood. She has extraordinary martial (fighting) abilities and, like Annabeth, extensive combat knowledge.

She does have the upper hand with physical prowess and strength compared to Luke, Percy, Annabeth, and other demigods outside the Ares cabin. Because of her combat skills, she can master any weapon with little to no practice. Her primary weapon of choice, however, is a spear that can produce electricity and damage her enemies (mostly Percy). Clarisse can also receive a blessing of invincibility from her father whenever Ares recognizes the wrath and courage of his offspring. This specifically happened to her inThe Last Olympianwhen she came storming into battle to avenge the death of her dear friend.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians

Luke Castellan, son of Hermes

Like Annabeth, Luke has been training at Camp Half Blood since he was 14 years old. He is the son of Hermes, the messenger god. Hermes is also known as the god of thievery, which Luke is exceptionally skilled at. He was the one whostole Zeus’s lightning boltas part of the titan Kronos’s plan to overthrow the gods and take over Olympus.

With thievery, Luke can also magically sense locks and can pick them with ease. He is versatile in just about any skill, mostly thievery and athletics. He is quick and cunning, never without some sort of trick up his t-shirt sleeve. With him having more training than Percy and most other demigods, Luke is even more skilled with a sword. Luke has outsmarted even Annabeth a few times throughout the book series through manipulation, primarily through Kronos’s influence. He makes for a tricky opponent to face off against.

Percy Jackson Star Addresses Racial Fan Backlash Over Casting: “Those People Might Not Know How to Adapt.”

Leah Sava Jeffries noted that “those people might not know how to adapt.”

Every demigod is powerful in their own right. It will be hard to determine who will be the most powerful until the show starts streaming on Disney+. The obvious answer would be Percy, of course. But Annabeth has more knowledge of combat and books to get herself out of puzzles, fights, and stressful situations. You don’t need to have powers to be considered powerful. With the promise of a faithfulPercy Jacksonadaptation, who are you putting your bets on? Until then, you may check out the official trailer down below.
